1. Information We Collect
Before You Go collects certain data to provide its services and improve merchant store performance. The data we collect includes:
- Shop Data: Language, markets, themes, and products for personalized recommendations (e.g., appropriate language/currency suggestions).
- Orders and Marketing Events: Data to attribute orders and track marketing performance.
- Themes and Online Store Pages: Access to themes and the ability to write online store pages for creating recovery pages.
2. How We Use Your Information
The collected data is used for the following purposes:
- To deliver personalized recommendations to enhance user experience and improve conversions.
- To create and manage recovery pages within the merchant's store.
- To attribute orders and assess marketing performance.
Data Retention: All collected data is retained for a maximum of 4 hours.
Storage: Data is securely stored on AWS servers in Frankfurt, Germany.
3. Third-Party Integrations
We integrate with the following third-party services:
- SendGrid: To send emails related to app performance and updates (e.g., shop name, email, performance specifics).
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP): To manage app infrastructure.
- MongoDB Atlas: To securely store all collected data.
These services process or store data as required for their functionality.
4. Permissions Requested
To provide its features, Before You Go requests the following Shopify permissions:
- read_markets, read_products, read_themes: To collect shop data for language, market, and currency recommendations.
- write_online_store_pages: To create recovery pages on the merchant’s website.
- read_orders, read_marketing_events: To attribute orders and analyze marketing event performance.
5. Monetization
Before You Go operates under a subscription-based model:
- Offers three plans: two fixed-price plans with capped monthly recovered revenue and one usage-based plan.
- All payments are processed securely via the Shopify Billing API.
The app does not display ads or use marketing tracking.
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The app uses localStorage for frequency capping to ensure optimal performance:
- Data is stored temporarily on the server for up to 4 hours.
7. Merchant Customization
Merchants can customize their recovery pages, influencing how the feature appears on their store.
8. Compliance with Privacy Laws
Before You Go complies with the following data protection regulations:
- GDPR: Merchants can request access to or deletion of their data by contacting us.
- CCPA: Merchants have the right to access their data and opt out of processing by uninstalling the app.
- Other Regulations: We also comply with Brazil’s LGPD, Canada’s PIPEDA, and other applicable laws.
